  • An alert must contain
    • Your identity
    • Your phone number
    • The location or the accident and how to access
    • Nature of the event
    • Number and condition of the victims
    • Actions already taken

First Aid

  • Abundant bleeding
    • Compress the bleeding area with the palm of the hand (protected if possible)
    • Lay the victim down
    • If manuel compression inefficient: garrot
    • If manuel compression efficient: pansement compressif if needed
      • If bleeding restarts: manual compression on pansement compressif. If still bleeding, garrot
    • Cas particulier:
      • Nose bleed: Sit with head forward, make them blow nose, then squeeze nostrils for 10 minutes
      • Vomitting or spitting blood, put victim in most comfortable position
  • Choking
    • Total obstruction (can’t talk, cough or make a sound)
      • 1 to 5 claques on back
        • Adult heimlich
        • Fat or pregant: thoraciques compression
        • Child: thoraciques compression with 2 fingers in middle of chest
    • Partial obstruction
      • Put victim in position he feels best
      • Encourage to cough
  • Victim not responding
    • Not breathing
      • Adult
        • 30 compressions on thorax (100-120 BPM)
        • 2 breaths in lungs
      • Child same but:
        • Start with 5 breaths
        • 15 compressions
        • 2 breaths
      • Defibrillator ASAP
    • Breathing
      • Lay on back
      • Clear airways
      • If injury due to non-traumatic event, put in recovery position
      • If due to traumatic event, leave on back and keep airways clear
  • Malaise
    • Check for signs of AVC or heart attack or infectious disease
    • Put victim in restful position
    • Listen, question victim and those around
  • Burns
    • Thermique or electric
      • Rince zone in temperate water for at least 10 minutes, ideally 20
      • At same time, remove clothes if not stuck to skin
    • Chemical
      • Rince zone immediately in water at temperate temperature
      • Avoid water going in eyes, skin of the victim
      • At same time, remove clothes with the product
      • If ingested corrosive product, don’t make victim vomit, place them seated in case of respiratory difficulties
  • Pain preventing certain movements
    • Pain in neck following a trauma
      • As the victim not to move head
      • Avoid all unnecessary manipulation
      • Stabilise if possible the rachis cervical in the position you find it, by maintaining the head in both hands
    • Pain in a member
      • As the victim not to move the hurt part
      • Avoid all unnecessary manipulation
      • Respect the position taken by the victim
  • Non abundant bleeding
    • Position victim:
      • In thorax (chest): sitting leaving wound in open air
      • Abdomen: flat on back, legs bent
      • In eye: lying down, both eyes closed and if possile holding head in both hands
    • Don’t remove the object present in the wound
    • In case of amputation, protect the member in a sterile compress or clean cloth, put in bag containing something cold
    • For simple cut, clean and protect the wound
